We may be a small team, but we're united by a big vision. Supported by a faithful Board, we work together to serve our partners, steward resources well and help bring hope to communities across Asia.
With a background in finance, operations and church ministry, Glenn has led Asian Outreach NZ since 2016. He is passionate about helping people come to know Jesus and grow as disciples who live out the Great Commission. Glenn and his wife, Angela, have three adult children and four grandchildren. They worship and serve at Northgate Baptist Church in Silverdale and Glenn enjoys mountain biking, NBA basketball, music, and supporting the Chiefs and Warriors in his spare time.
Kirsty has worked part-time on AONZ’s communications and marketing since 2017. In 2021, she wrote and launched our Mission Minded Kids course, which teaches kiwi kids in Christian schools about mission. Kirsty has a Bachelor of Communication Studies and experience working in radio, television and corporate communications. Kirsty and her husband, Ben, have three children and are active members of Northgate Baptist Church in Silverdale. They also run a small charity sponsoring the education of children from two Ugandan orphanages.
John is a chartered accountant who has run his own practice since 1994, serving business and not-for-profit clients. His previous roles include senior finance positions with a major hotel chain, NZ Dairy (now Fonterra), Deloitte, and consultancy work for Auckland City Council on significant property projects. John is an elder at Elim Christian Centre and has served on multiple church and trust boards.
Robert has supported Asian Outreach for over 40 years and joined the board in 2008. He now serves as Chair, bringing decades of NGO leadership and governance to the role. With more than 30 years’ experience in the overseas aid and domestic social services sectors, Robert has specialised in financial, project and grant management. He previously led a developing microfinance institution, supporting the establishment of ethical lending to low-income families in New Zealand. Robert has travelled extensively across the developing world and spent four years living in Cambodia. He now works as a Programmes Manager for an international NGO in Tauranga and helps run his family’s garden centre.
Bruce has been involved in both church ministry and mission leadership for most of his life. He spent many years on the pastoral staff of a large multicultural church, where he continues to attend today. Later he served as Vice President of Asian Outreach International in Hong Kong and in governance roles on multiple AO boards. His prior work experience also spans occupational health, infectious diseases, community development and property management. Bruce and his wife, Diane, continue to travel regularly to Asia - particularly to Cambodia, where Bruce serves on the AOC board. They both enjoy connecting with and encouraging the AOC staff. Bruce is a passionate project manager, fundraiser, and mentor - supporting church, business, and NGO leaders worldwide.
Raised internationally, Esther has seen firsthand how development projects impact communities. She has travelled to more than a dozen countries - many in the developing world - and carries a strong desire to see the nations come to Jesus. Esther's experience includes working with various organisations and helping train young leaders through the Aspiring Leaders’ Forum and National Leadership Forum. Now based in Hamilton, Esther continues to invest in meaningful community work. Since returning to New Zealand in 2017, she has volunteered in roles such as youth leader, camp committee member, prison ministry volunteer, worship leader, fundraiser, treasurer and children’s coordinator. Esther also enjoys teaching AONZ’s Mission Minded Kids programme.
